The Journeys and Adventures series published by John Murray consisted of four diminutive titles, all published in 1940 by John Murray Ltd.

Lucius Apuleius’ The Golden Ass (as retold by W.H.D. Rouse) was published, as were all four titles in the series, in 1940.

Jackets are illustrated and unique to each title. The spine contains the book title, editor, and “J.M.” for publisher John Murray. The front of the jacket includes the title and author and an illustration, followed by the editor and a brief description of the author. Illustrations are by Kupfer-Sachs. A price of 2s. net is on the front jacket flap.

The back of the jacket lists three additional titles in the series.

The book is bound in blue cloth with yellow illustrations.
