The Oxford Miscellany series was published by Oxford University Press from about 1906 to 1943. The series name shows up on much earlier and later books but this time span encompasses what was a coherent series of about fifty titles of classics. Frowde was the Publisher to the University (in essence, head of Oxford University Press) until his retirement in 1913. Milford took over and retired in 1945. At that time the series was discontinued or forced out of print by the War.
