Macmillan’s New Pocket Classics series is the same size and has similar scholarly, literary classics among its 50+ titles as their Golden Treasury Series. It follows Macmillan’s Pocket Classics series which was in print between 1901-1923. This earlier series seems to have been primarily intended for classroom use.
The New Pocket Classics dust jackets are plain and common in design. The 1931 edition shown below includes the name of authors included in the anthology. There is no text on the jacket spine besides the book title, and the jacket flap is blank.
The back of the jacket and the rear flap are also blank.
Bindings are a semi-glossy plasticized material with a simple design, including a logo for the series.
Endpapers include the series name and a location to write the owner’s name.
The back of the book includes a three-page catalog of single and combination volumes in the series.
